Forest fire on 5,420 hectares in Chitwan

 

Chitwan, April 7: Wildfire has spread over 5,420 hectares of forest in Chitwan district.

The forest fire is taking place in the Division Forest Office area, Chitwan National Park and the Buffer Zone area.

Information Officer at the Division Forest Office, Devi Prasad Poudel, said a total of 4,220 hectares of forest area out of around 57,000 hectares of forest under the office has caught fire. Wildlife is also facing problems due to the forest fire, he added.

Information Officer of Chitwan National Park, Abinash Thapa Magar, shared that a forest fire has taken place on more than 1,200 hectares of land of CNP and the buffer zone.

A team of the Nepali Army and CNP is deployed to douse the fire soon after getting information about the wildfire.
