Former chief reporter of RSS, Risal, passes away
Kathmandu, April 6: Former chief reporter of the Rastriya Samachar Samiti (RSS), Bhairav Risal, passed away today.
Risal was 97 years old. He breathed his last at Frontline Hospital, Old Baneshwor.
Noted journalist Risal was receiving treatment for cardiac and lung diseases at the hospital, according to his brother, Puru Risal. Risal was born at Tithali, Bhaktapur on Shrawan 29, 1985 BS. The late Risal was devoted to journalism and social service throughout his life.
He penned the books named ‘Sadhulai Suli’, Logne Swasni’, ‘Kehi Mitraka Chithi’, and ‘Bhairav Dai’. He had already announced a donation of his body (lifeless) to the Patan Hospital for research and study. ‘While Bajeka Palama’ was a popular radio program aired on Radio Sagarmatha, which he presented for a long.
He had bagged various awards relating to human rights and the environment. He has lived with a spouse, two sons and two daughters.
