BIMSTEC Secy Gen calls Foreign Minister Deuba

Kathmandu: Secretary General of BIMSTEC, Indramani Pandey, paid a courtesy call on Foreign Minister Dr Arzu Rana Deuba in Bangkok on Wednesday. Minister Deuba is in Thailand to participate in the 6th BIMSTEC Summit.

During the meeting, the Foreign Minister said that Nepal recognizes the key role of BIMSTEC for regional peace and unity and remains committed to the principles and objectives of BIMSTEC for the collective prosperity of the region.

She also hoped the Summit would provide options for collective efforts in the field of sustainable solutions to the problems facing the region.

During the meeting, she lauded that BIMSTEC should effectively pursue the model of cooperation in the pressing areas of our time- climate change, natural disasters, energy crisis, poverty, human trafficking and terrorism.
