Meetings of both houses of the federal parliament being held today
Kathmandu, March 30: Both houses of the federal parliament are meeting today.
In the meeting of the House of Representatives scheduled for 11:00 am, Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli is scheduled to table a proposal seeking deliberations on the ‘Constitutional Council (Function, Duties, Powers and Procedures) (First Amendment) Bill, 2079 along with the report of the State Affairs and Good Governance Committee.
According to today’s agenda made public by the Parliament Secretariat, the bill, along with the message received from the National Assembly regarding the ‘Banking Offences and Punishment (Second Amendment) Bill, 2080’ will also be tabled in the meeting.
In the meeting, Infrastructure Development Committee Chair Deepak Bahadur Singh will present the ‘Report of the Committee on the Water Resources Bill, 2081’. Furthermore, Minister for Industry, Commerce and Supplies Damodar Bhandari is scheduled to present a proposal to send the Import and Export (Regulation) Bill, 2081, to the concerned committee for clause-wise discussion.
Similarly, Minister for Women, Children and Senior Citizens Nawal Kishore Shah Sudi will present the ‘Human Trafficking and Smuggling Control (First Amendment) Bill, 2081’.
Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Ajay Kumar Chaurasiya will present a proposal seeking the house’s consideration on the ‘Nepal Lawyers Council (Second Amendment) Bill, 2081’, which originated in the National Assembly.
Minister for Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation Deepak Khadka will present a proposal to send the ‘Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Bill, 2081’ to the concerned committee for clause-wise discussion.
Meanwhile, the National Assembly is scheduled to meet at 11:15 a.m. However, the Parliament Secretariat has not published the agenda of the meeting.
