Both Houses of federal parliament meetings called for today
March 26, Kathmandu: The House of Representatives (HoR) and the National Assembly (NA) of the federal parliament are convening their meetings on Wednesday. Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli is scheduled to present a proposal at the HoR meeting, which will take place at 11:00 am. The agenda includes a discussion on the Constitutional Council (First Amendment) Bill, 2079 BS, which originated in the National Assembly and includes a report from the State Affairs and Good Governance Committee.
According to the Parliament Secretariat’s schedule, PM Oli will seek endorsement for the Constitutional Council (Functions, Duties, Powers and Procedures) (First Amendment) Bill, 2081 BS. This bill will be presented alongside a message from the National Assembly regarding the Banking Offences and Punishment (Second Amendment) Bill, 2081 BS.
In the National Assembly, Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Ajaya Kumar Chaurasiya is set to present a proposal for consideration of the Nepal Council of Legal Practitioners (Second Amendment) Bill, 2081 BS. Additionally, PM Oli will present the annual report of the Muslim Commission for the fiscal year 2080/81 BS during the National Assembly meeting scheduled for 1:15 pm today.
Ministers will respond to questions regarding the Ministry of Physical Infrastructure and Transport, the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, the Ministry of Federal Affairs and General Administration, and the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Development. Furthermore, Kamala Panta, President of the Development, Economic Affairs and Good Governance Committee, will present a proposal for discussion on the “Report on the Need for a Legal System Regarding the Rights and Development of the Dalit Community, 2081 BS.”
