UAE Embassy hosts Iftar reception in Kathmandu
March 21, Kathmandu: The UAE Embassy in Nepal organized its annual Iftar reception on Friday, attended by high-ranking government officials, politicians, business leaders, and community members from various backgrounds.
The event, held during the holy month of Ramadan, featured Minister of Youth and Sports, Teju Lal Chaudhary, as the chief guest. UAE Ambassador to Nepal, Abdulla Al Shamsi, delivered a speech expressing his happiness in hosting the attendees and emphasizing the significance of the occasion.
In his address, Ambassador Al Shamsi underscored the importance of social unity and harmony, a key priority for the UAE since its founding in 1971. He linked this vision to Islamic teachings, referencing the Prophet Muhammad’s call for mutual support within society. He also highlighted UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan’s designation of 2025 as the “Year of Society,” aimed at strengthening community bonds and encouraging innovation.
