Legislative Assembly members of Puducherry in Pokhara

Gandaki, March 4: A team comprising the Speaker of the Puducherry State of India, Embalam R. Selvum, arrived in Pokhara on Monday for a friendly visit and experience-sharing session. The Gandaki Province Assembly had invited the team.

Krishna Prasad Dhital, Speaker of the Gandaki Province Assembly, along with Deputy Speaker Bina Kumari Thapa and other officials, welcomed the team at the Province Assembly premises by offering traditional Nepali Dhaka topis and garlands.

On the occasion, Speaker Selvum invited members of the Gandaki PA, including the Speaker, to visit Puducherry. He highlighted that Puducherry, like Pokhara, is a tourist destination and expressed his belief that such visits would contribute to the tourism development of both provinces.

Similarly, Speaker Dhital emphasized that the visit would be significant for expanding the friendly relations between the two provinces. “This visit will also strengthen relations between our two countries. Nepal is always in favor of peaceful coexistence and unity in diversity,” he said, adding, “We believe that this visit to Pokhara will significantly contribute to the promotion of tourism here.”

Deputy Speaker Bina Kumari Thapa noted that the visit provides an opportunity to learn about parliamentary practices and share experiences between the two provinces.

The team was briefed on the structure, activities, and achievements of the Gandaki PA. The team includes Deputy Speaker P. Rajvelu and members of the Legislative Assembly, including Tourism Minister K. Laxmi Narayan.

According to the Gandaki PA Secretariat, the Indian team is scheduled to visit various tourist and religious sites in Pokhara.
