On Air Station:

Detail collection of damage in agriculture underway

Inaruwa (Sunsari), March 4: The local authority has begun collecting details on loss and damage caused in agriculture due to the hailstorm that occurred in Sunsari.

The hailstorm occurred over the past two days, Sunday and Monday. The collection of details on the loss began as a result of a news story carried by the Rastriya Samachar Samiti (RSS). The Agricultural Knowledge Centre in the district launched the drive to garner information at the local level, according to Nil Kamal Singh, chief of the Centre.

Earlier, the farmers in the district had submitted a memorandum to the district administration office via ward and local levels. Crop conservation officer Mira Timilsina informed that the Centre decided to conduct a monitoring of the agricultural fields and collect data on loss and damage.
