Magar Museum established in Dang
Ghorahi (Dang), March 3: A museum has been established in Ghorahi sub-metropolitan city-13, New Bus Park, to preserve the art and culture of the Magar community.
Materials showcasing the art, culture, and tradition of the Magar community have been kept in the museum. Chair of the Nepal Magar Association Ghorahi municipal committee Bed Bahadur Budha Magar said, although the museum was established to help preserve the original art, culture, and tradition of the Magar community, it has yet to be made spacious and organized.
“The museum has become a place to study and learn about the art, culture, and tradition of the Magar community,” he said, adding that work is underway to find more materials related to the community. Materials will be collected from the Rolpa and Rukum areas having a dominant population of Magar community people, he shared.
“We are now working to preserve art, culture, and tradition by establishing this museum as a model,” he noted. —RSS
