Chapakot Municipality offers free health insurance services to 600 poor families
Waling (Syangja), Feb 25: Chapakot Municipality in Syangja District has offered health insurance services to 600 poor families for free.
Out of the 10 wards of the municipality, 60 poor families have been selected in each ward for insurance coverage.
Mayor Dev Bahadur Khand stated that the municipality provided health insurance services to this number of economically disadvantaged households with the belief that no one should be deprived of basic health services due to financial reasons.
“The municipality has included them in the free health insurance coverage to provide accessible health services to people from the indigent community, enrolling them in the health insurance scheme launched by the Government of Nepal,” he mentioned.
The municipality has allocated Rs 2.56 million in the budget for the health insurance scheme for the poor community in the current fiscal year.
It has distributed insurance cards to these poor families, and a family of five members will receive health treatment services free of cost.
