Israeli Ambassador Bass visits model farm in Dhading

February 17, Kathmandu: Israeli Ambassador to Nepal, Shmulik A. Bass, visited an agricultural farm in Jeevanpur, Dhading, on February 16, accompanied by officials from the Ministry of Finance and Sana Kisan Bikas Laghubitta Bittiyasanstha (SKBBL).

The team visited the farm of Yuddha Prasad Neupane, an Israel-trained agripreneur, to observe his use of Israeli agro-technologies.

Neupane, a 2013-14 graduate of the Learn and Earn Program at the Arava International Center for Agriculture Training (AICAT), has expanded his farm using advanced techniques such as automated drip irrigation, fertigation, mulching, and high-tech nurseries.

He invests only 20% of his income in Israeli technology while achieving significant results. His success has inspired neighbouring farmers, who are adopting similar methods.

The Ambassador and Nepali dignitary’s visit highlights Nepal-Israel agricultural cooperation and the impact of the Learn and Earn Program, which has trained over 4,000 Nepali students since 2001.

Neupane was also recognized as the 2nd Krishi Tara winner, receiving NPR 500,000 and a certificate.
