Maoist Centre Chair commits to protecting constitution and people’s rights
Kathmandu, Feb 13 – Chairperson of the CPN (Maoist Centre), Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda,’ has stated that they will continue to struggle to protect the norms and values of the constitution, which was promulgated with the support of the armed conflict, and to uphold the people’s rights.
At a program organized at the party’s central office in Parisdanda today to commemorate the armed struggle launched 30 years ago, Chair Dahal argued that efforts to reverse the progressive provisions of the constitution would be thwarted.
The armed uprising under the leadership of the then CPN (Maoist) was launched on February 13, 1996.
He stated, “Some elements have been making efforts to reverse the progressive provisions of the constitution. But we will establish a socialist republic at any cost.”
The CPN (Maoist Centre) will move forward with the people’s agenda with determination and is committed to strengthening its ties with the people, added Chair Dahal.
Chair Dahal emphasized that the party should take initiatives to bring meaningful change to people’s lives.
On the occasion, Maoist leaders, including Chair Dahal, offered wreaths at the martyr’s memorial in Parisdanda.
