Industrial village planned in Saptari

Siraha, Feb 11: An industrial village, Big Indus Padamnagar, is set to be established at Laxminagar in Surunga Municipality-3, Saptari, with a projected cost of Rs 4 billion. The project, covering 14 bighas of land, is expected to be completed within two years.

Former Prime Minister and CPN (Unified Socialist) senior leader Jhalanath Khanal laid the foundation stone on Monday. He highlighted the vital role of industries in national development and employment generation, stressing that such initiatives would help curb youth migration.

Industrialist Birendra Neupane, who is spearheading the project, shared that the village would honour his grandfather’s social contributions. The facility will include a pulp factory, cold storage, and industries for lubricants, paint, solar energy, and more, benefiting local farmers and creating jobs.
