President Paudel stresses need for modernized anti-corruption measures
Kathmandu, Feb 10: President Ram Chandra Paudel has emphasized the growing complexity of corruption with advancements in information technology.
Speaking at the 34th anniversary of the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) in Kathmandu, President Poudel reaffirmed that the commission must act independently and impartially.
He highlighted the need to modernize investigation and prosecution processes to tackle evolving corruption methods.
Expressing concern over delays in anti-corruption legislation, he urged timely reforms.
As Nepal is a signatory to international conventions, he called for updating national laws.
During the event, President Poudel honored outstanding employees.
The event saw the presence of key officials, including Speaker Devraj Ghimire and National Assembly Chairperson Narayan Prasad Dahal.
