Seven Nepalis killed in Maharashtra train accident identified
January 25, Kathmandu: The identities of the seven Nepali nationals who were among the 12 people killed in a train accident in the Jalgaon district of the Indian state of Maharashtra on January 22 have been ascertained. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed the identities and expressed condolences to the bereaved families.
The deceased Nepalis have been identified as Kamala Nabin Bhandari (43), Lacchiram Passi (40) Hinduram Bishwakarma (11), Nandaram Padam Bishwakarma (44), Maisara Kami Bishwakarma (42), Jokla aka Kala Kami (60), and Radheshyam Radha (32).
Four Nepali were injured in the incident, three of whom are receiving treatment at a local hospital. The one critically injured person is being treated at Godavari Hospital in Jalgaon. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is coordinating with the Nepali Embassy in New Delhi and the Indian Embassy in Kathmandu to repatriate the bodies of the deceased and facilitate the treatment of the injured.
