Package programme to be introduced to minimize human-wildlife conflict: Minister Shahi

Chitwan: Minister for Forest and Environment Ain Bahadur Shahi said the government would introduce a ‘package’ programme to minimize human-wildlife conflict.

Addressing the 8th General Assembly of Tikauli Buffer Zone Community Forest here today, Minister Shahi said the ministry was developing a special package to resolve the problem arising from human-wildlife conflict.

‘Work is in progress after forming a task force to solve the problems of the buffer zone,’ he said.

The Minister shared that the government was working to restructure the wildlife department and amend forestry-related laws to address the issues.

Nepal’s forest and tourism are interlinked, he said, adding the government was working to solve the problems that surfaced in the sector.
