Chairperson Dahal terms party Central Committee meeting as a cornerstone for socialist revolution

Kathmandu: CPN (Maoist Centre) Chairperson Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has said that the sixth plenum of the party’s central committee (CC) was a meeting for party unity and victory.

The central committee meeting of the Maoist Centre concluded on Tuesday after running for three days. Addressing the concluding session of the CC meeting, Chairperson Dahal said this meeting was historic and had far-reaching impacts.

He mentioned that the meeting resulted in ideological, functional and emotional uniformity in the party, creating a foundation for victory by aligning his party with its ideological class and community.

He viewed that the decisions once implemented will be the cornerstone for the socialist revolution. The CC has decided to launch a six-month-long party-building campaign and then prepare for the general convention after the next six months for ideological synthesis.

Dahal announced that the upcoming CC meeting would be held in July after completing the six-month-long campaign and the CC would be converted into the general convention organizing committee.

The Maoist Centre Chairperson argued that the campaign would also be a part of the general convention since it gathered massive feedback from the people.

Preparations for the campaign would be completed by mid-February People’s War Day would be marked on February 13 and the campaigns would be focused along the Postal Highway and East-West Highway, as decided in the CC meeting.

Similarly, such campaigns would be conducted along the Hid-Hill Highway considering the mountainous and mid-hall parts of the country.

Chairperson Dahal said that all central leaders would be given responsibility to reach the grassroots level and the circular on responsibility division would be issued within two weeks.

The party has also formed a high-level party unity dialogue committee to prepare for the unification process of ideologically closed forces. The CC meeting also passed the political report tabled by Chairperson Dahal with some revisions.

A total of 118 leaders including the party office-bearers and central committee members offered their feedback on Chairperson Dahal’s political report.
