Maoist Centre CC Meeting: Active participation of cadres, and leaders in labour campaign urged
Kathmandu: CPN (Maoist Centre) leaders have called for the active involvement of the party leaders including the Chairperson and the cadres in the proposed labour campaign to link the party with boosting production.
They shared such views on the second day of the party’s 8th central committee meeting in Kathmandu while deliberating on the political report presented by party Chairperson Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’.
As many as 80 participants highlighted the importance of labour donation and thus voiced that all party leaders and cadres alike should consider labour donation for at least three days a month, said party Vice-Chairperson and Spokesperson Agni Prasad Sapkota.
The participants also insisted that the communist leaders should live by the principle of transparency and possess highly moral standards good conduct and fair behaviour. They unanimously called for the party to be managed in an organized manner, emphasizing the need for the effective operation of all internal mechanisms.
Participants recognized the necessity for the party to conduct a public awareness campaign along the Mid-Hill Highway, Postal Highway, Kathmandu Valley, and its surrounding areas, with a focus on the upcoming parliamentary election. Spokesperson Sapkota mentioned that participants highlighted the importance of informing the public about campaigns led by the CPN (Maoist Centre)-led government in support of good governance, economic prosperity, and social justice.
While leaders have agreed to hold the party’s general convention, they had divided opinions regarding setting the agendas, according to Sapkota. Some leaders insisted that a special general convention should be held before the general convention, he added.
Participants appreciated the report presented by party Chair Dahal, stating that it accurately analyzed the current political situation and was scientific and objective. The next meeting of the CPN (Maoist Centre) Central Committee is scheduled for Tuesday at 11:00 am.
