UML central committee meeting on Sunday
Kathmandu, Jan 4: The CPN (UML) central committee is to commence on Sunday.
Party chairperson and Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli will present a political report at the meeting scheduled to convene at 11:00 am at the party central office in Chyasal. UML vice chair Surendra Pandey informed us that there used to be a group discussion on the report, but this time, arrangements have been made for each central member to put forth their different opinion.
Each central committee member will be provided three minutes for their opinion. At the beginning of the meeting, chair Oli is set to brief the audience about the latest political developments. Vice-chair Pandey said that the political report to be presented by Oli will cover future action plans, party organization strengthening, current government formation, partnership in previous governments, government priorities, constitutional amendment, economic reforms, and cooperatives, among others.
Central members and heads of commissions will participate in the meeting. The meeting is scheduled to take place for two days. On January 2, the UML secretariat meeting approved the political report to be presented at the central committee meeting.
The Central Committee meeting is going to be held for the first time after the formation of the government under the leadership of Chair Oli. It is said that the meeting to be held on the eve of the winter session of the Parliament will decide on the ‘agenda,’ including the amendment to the constitution. —RSS
