Minister Rana lays foundations stone for Jalapadevi cable car
Lamki (Kailali): Minister for Foreign Affairs Dr Arzu Rana Deuba has laid a foundation stone for the construction of Jalapadevi cable car in Karnali Chisapani of Kailali district on Saturday.
A 3.1 kms long cable car will be built at Karnali Chisapani of Lamki Chuha Municipality-3 in the district at the estimated cost of Rs 5 billion.
In the foundation stone laying ceremony, Minister Dr Rana expressed her confidence that the cable car would significantly contribute to the socio-economic and cultural development of Sudurpaschim Province.
“Sudurpaschim Province is renowned for its rich culture, tradition, tourism and biodiversity. The province boats of bounty of natural resources and natural heritages apart from the cultural unity and sense of goodwill among the people here,” the Minister asserted, noting that progressive outlook of the province’s folks.
Urging the contractor company for timely completion of the cable car, she called for move investment in the province after assessing its potential and needs.
Also speaking on the occasion, Minister for Forest and Environment Ain Bahadur Shahi believed that the cable car and other infrastructures would notably play a role in development bid of the province.
Expressing his concern over slow pace of infrastructure development in the western side of the country lagging behind in terms of development of infrastructures, Minister Shahi appealed to the private sector to increase investment for development of physical infrastructures in the province.
Likewise, Sudurpaschim Province Chief Minister Kamal Bahadur Shah reaffirmed the provincial government’s commitment to fully supporting development projects and encouraging investments in the province.
He also urged the investors to work towards attracting more investment.
Similarly, Chandra Prasad Dhakal, President of Jalapadevi Cable Car Pvt Ltd, highlighted the role of tourism in driving country’s socio-economic development.
