Quran memorization competition held in Kathmandu

December 24, Kathmandu: Nepal’s largest Quran memorization competition recently concluded with over 750 participants. Held under the patronage of the Saudi Embassy and coordinated with Nepal’s Islamic Commission, the event saw 18 winners across four categories.

Speaker of the House of Representatives, Dev Raj Ghimire, and Saudi Ambassador Saad bin Nasser Abu Haimed attended the ceremony. Ambassador Abu Huaimid expressed his admiration for Nepal’s commitment to fostering a conducive environment for Islamic education. Representing the Saudi Minister of Islamic Affairs, Undersecretary Dr Awad Al-Anzi emphasized Saudi Arabia’s commitment to Quranic education.

Participants expressed gratitude to the Saudi government and the Ministry of Islamic Affairs for their support in promoting Quranic studies in Nepal.
