NPL winner Janakpur Bolts gets Rs 11 million
Kathmandu: The winning team of the first season of Nepal Premier League (NPL), Janakpur Bolts, has received Rs. 11 million in cash and trophy.
Janakpur Bolts has clinched the title of the first season of NPL T20 Cricket Tournament defeating Sudurpaschim Royals by five wickets.
In the prize distribution ceremony after the final match, former Prime Minister and Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba, former Prime Minister and CPN (Maoist Centre) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ and Chairman of Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) Chatur Bahadur Chand jointly handed over the bank cheque of the amount to the Captain and cricketer of Janakpur Bolts Ashif Sheikh and Anil Shah.
Likewise, Minister for Youth and Sports Tejulal Chaudhary provided Rs 5.1 million to the first-up, Sudurpaschim Royals.
Similarly, second-runner-up Karnali Yaks got Rs 2.5 million while Chitwan Rhinos got Rs 1.5 million as the fourth prize of the NPL. Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak and Chief Minister of Madhesh Province Satish Kumar Singh handed over the bank cheques to Karnali Yaks and Chitwan Rhinos.
