Karnali Yaks defeat Chitwan Rhinos in NPL eliminator

December 18, Kathmandu: Karnali Yaks advanced in the Nepal Premier League (NPL) semi-final by defeating Chitwan Rhinos by 21 runs in the eliminator match held on Wednesday.

Batting first, Karnali Yaks posted a competitive total of 175/6 in their 20 overs, with key contributions from their middle and lower order. Chitwan Rhinos, chasing a target of 176, struggled to build partnerships and finished at 154/9 in their allotted overs, falling short by 21 runs.

Karnali’s bowlers held their nerve in the crunch moments, with disciplined death-over bowling sealing the win. This victory keeps Karnali in contention for the final as they progress to face the loser of Qualifier 1.

Chitwan’s exit marks the end of their NPL campaign, while Karnali stays alive in the race for the championship. Karnali Yaks will now face the loser of Qualifier 1 between Janakpur Bolts and Sudurpaschim Royals.
