First-ever special camp on social security service in Oman, 215 Nepalis benefitted
Kathmandu: The Nepali Embassy in Oman organized an orientation programme for social service enrolment, consular service and labour awareness for Nepali workers.
At a programme organized on the Embassy Premises on November 29, Nepali Ambassador to Oman, Dornath Aryal, highlighted the Social Security Fund (SSF), initiatives taken by the government of Nepal and the importance of SSF, reads a press statement issued by the Nepali Embassy in Oman.
He thanked the team from SSF, Embassy staff representatives of Oman-based Nepali organisations and volunteers for their encouraging participation.
Similarly, Deputy Executive Director of the Social Security Fund, Bibek Panthi, shared the procedures and benefits of the scheme. A three-member team from Social Security Fund, Kathmandu comprising Deputy Executive Director Bibek Panthi, Assistant Director Radhika Niraula and IT Officer, Rajesh Chapagain, is visiting Oman for the special event.
A separate desk was set up to provide Labour and Consular Services at the camp, Bishesh Kumar Sah, Second Secretary and Govinda Prasad Acharya, Labour Attache’ coordinated the event. Around 215 Nepalis received the services in the camp.
Also in the past, the Embassy had conducted passport-consular services camps on weekends to facilitate the Nepali community members who find it difficult to come to the Embassy on a weekday.
But this camp was special due to social security-related services. The special services camp was the first-ever camp on the social security enrolment and regularization services provided in a foreign land.
