Janakpur Bolts wins inaugural match

Kathmandu: Janakpur Bolts won today’s inaugural match against Biratnagar Kings under the Nepal Premier League.

Janakpur Bolts defeated Biratnagar Kings by eight wickets in the match held at Kirtipur-based TU Cricket Ground. Invited to bat first after losing the toss, Biratnagar Kings made 127 runs in 19 overs losing all wickets.

Chasing the target of 128 runs, Janakpur Bolts made it in 15.3 overs losing two wickets. For Janakpur Bolts, Lahiru Milantha scored 75 runs in 53 balls while Harsh Thaker gathered 29 runs (not out) while captain Anil Kumar Sah had five runs.

Aasif Sheikh failed to score a single run. Towards bowling, Chris Sole and Pratish GC took one wicket each. Janakpur Bolts got 22 extra runs in the match.

Earlier, Biratnagar Kings made 127 runs in 19 overs losing all wickets. For Biratnagar, Martin Guptill of New Zealand scored the highest 55 runs in 43 balls for Biratnagar Kings. Similarly, Aqib Ilyas gathered 15 runs while Nicholas Kirton had nine runs, Lokesh Bam had five runs, Basir Ahamad, Sandeep Lamichhane and Anil Kharel had seven runs each.

Likewise, Chris Sole collected four runs, Pratish GC two runs and Rajesh Pulami Magar one run. For Janakpur Bolts, Lalit Rajbanshi took three wickets while Kishore Mahato and Harsh Thaker two wickets each. Similarly, Muhammad Mohsin and Ben Mike had one wicket each.
