UML Senior Vice Chair Pokharel meets CPC Int’l Dept head Liu in Beijing
November 21, Kathmandu: A high-level delegation from the CPN (UML), led by Senior Vice Chairperson Ishwor Pokharel, met with Liu Jianchao, Head of the International Department of the Communist Party of China (CPC), in Beijing on Wednesday.
Both sides expressed optimism about Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli’s upcoming visit to China, anticipating it to further strengthen bilateral relations and cooperation. Pokharel emphasized the importance of this visit in implementing past agreements and elevating the historic ties between the two nations.
Liu Jianchao welcomed Prime Minister Oli’s visit and highlighted the shared expectations of both peoples. He stressed the need to leverage the centuries-old relationship for mutual development and prosperity. Sun Haiyan, Deputy Head of the CPC’s International Department, reaffirmed China’s commitment to supporting Nepal’s development.
A 15-member delegation led by UML Senior Vice Chair Pokharel is currently visiting China at the invitation of the International Department of the Communist Party.
