Petroleum exploration: 79 percent drilling completed
Dailekh, Nov 14: Almost 79 percent of the drilling work under the exploration of petroleum products has been completed in the Jaljale area of Bhairavi Rural Municipality-1 in the district.
Chief of the Petroleum Project Division under the Department of Mines and Geology, Ganesh Nath Tripathi, said 79 percent of the drilling work has been completed so far. Only after drilling up to a depth of 4,000 meters, it can be ascertained whether or not there are petroleum products.
Exploration of petroleum products is going on with a grant of Rs 2.5 billion from the Chinese government. The Division, in collaboration with the China Geological Survey and Sibu Drilling Engineering Company, is continuing the drilling works.
Meanwhile, the Chief Minister of Karnali Province, Yamlal Kandel, made an on-site inspection of the project site and inquired about the progress made in petroleum exploration. —RSS
