Three active variants of dengue detected in Nepal
Kathmandu: Three active variants of dengue have been detected in Nepal.
Dr. Gokarna Prasad Dahal, the Chief of the Vector Borne Disease Control Section of the Epidemiology and Disease Control Division, confirmed that the Serotype-1, Serotype-2 and Serotype-3 variants of dengue are active in Nepal.
He added that dengue cases have been reported all over the country except Humla district. More than 27 thousand dengue cases have been reported in the country while 11 people died due to dengue infection.
The Kathmandu Valley alone has witnessed more than 5 thousand cases of dengue.
