2026 Diversity Visa (DV) program application period opens

October 2, Kathmandu: The application period for the 2026 Diversity Visa (DV) Program opened on October 2, 2024, at 9:45 pm (Nepal time) and will close on November 5, 2024, at 10:45 pm (Nepal time). Applications are free and must be submitted online through the official website at https://dvprogram.state.gov/.

The U.S. Embassy advises applicants not to use consultants, as applicants are responsible for their own entries. All entries must include the applicant’s spouse and unmarried children under the age of 21. Only one entry per person is allowed. Submissions with outdated photos or multiple applications will be disqualified.

A valid passport is no longer required at the time of entry. Applicants must retain their confirmation number and keep it safe, which will be the only way to check selection status starting May 3, 2025.
