Proposal for People’s Library at Prime Minister’s Residence

Kathmandu: Radhika Shakya, wife of Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, has proposed establishing a People’s Library at Baluwatar, the Prime Minister’s official residence.

She suggests using the vacant library room in Baluwatar for this purpose.

Prime Minister Oli shared on social media that his wife Radhika Shakya presented the idea after seeing the empty library room. The room has 60 shelves, with space for 1,200 to 2,000 books if organized properly.

Shakya’s proposal includes keeping books that everyone has read and enjoyed.

The library will feature books signed by both authors and readers.

The Prime Minister encourages people to contribute by donating books they have written or liked to the People’s Library.

Shakya plans to dedicate one hour six days a week to organize and manage the library collection.
