Embassy of Nepal in Paris completes passport renewal service in Lisbon

August 14, Kathmandu: The Embassy of Nepal in Paris, in collaboration with the Department of Passport, successfully completed a passport renewal service in Lisbon, Portugal, from August 2 to August 13, 2024.

A total of 3,829 Nepalese citizens availed of the service, including 3,380 renewals and 328 missing passport cases, generating €491,580 (approximately NPR 72 million).

The mobile service was managed by the National Coordinating Committee of the Non-Resident Nepali Association in Portugal, with support from the Consulate of Nepal in Portugal and various social organizations.

The Embassy expressed gratitude to all involved, noting that over 50,000 Nepali currently reside in Portugal. The Embassy also acknowledged ongoing issues with document verification and committed to resolving these problems. Plans are underway to organize another camp to distribute passports applied for during this and previous camps.
