CM Kandel secures vote of confidence

Kathmandu: Karnali Province Chief Minister Yam Lal Kandel has secured a vote of confidence. With the support of 23 lawmakers from the Nepali Congress and the CPN (UML) today, Chief Minister Kandel won the vote of confidence for the second time.

Twenty-three lawmakers voted in favour of Chief Minister Kandel and 14 lawmakers voted against him. Out of the 40-member Karnali Province assembly, 37 were present in today’s meeting. Nine lawmakers of the CPN (UML) and 14 lawmakers of the Nepali Congress voted for Chief Minister Kandel’s vote of trust
motion.

The CPN (Maoist Centre) withdrew its support to the Karnali Province government on 22 July, after the Nepali Congress and the CPN (UML) formed a coalition government in the centre
