Two leaders from Nagarik Unmukti Party submit claim for Chief Minister of Sudurpaschim Province

Kathmandu: Two leaders from Nagarik Unmukti Party have submitted their claims for Chief Minister of Sudurpaschim Province.

Nagarik Unmukti leader Kailash Chaudhary submitted his claim to Province Chief Najir Miya today. Chaudhary, with the support of the CPN (UML), CPN (Maoist Centre), Nagarik Unmukti Party and independent province assembly member, presented his claim.

Similarly,  Laxman Kishore Chaudhary, also another leader from the Nagarik Unmukti, presented his claim. With the support of Nepali Congress, CPN (Unified Socialist) and Nagarik Unmukti Party, he presented his claim.

Province Chief Miya, acting upon the sub-section 2 of Article 168 of the Constitution, has called province assembly members, who can gain support from 2 or more than 2 parties, to submit their claim for the Chief Minister by 5 pm, 14th April.

There are a total of 53 members in the province assembly. And one requires the support of at least 27 members for forming new government.

There are 18 members of Nepali Congress, 10 from CPN (UML), 11 from CPN (Maoist Centre), 6 from Nagarik Unmukti, 4 from CPN (Unified Socialist), 1 from Rastriya Prajatantra Party, and 1 independent member in the Province Assembly.
