Difficulty prevails in teaching-learning after landslide buries school in Parbat
Parbat: A school at Thapathana of Phalebas Municipality-2 in Parbat district has been facing problems in conducting teaching-learning activities after a landslide buried its two buildings.
The rain-triggered landslide that occurred on the morning of June 29 had damaged three-roomed buildings. No human casualties occurred since the disaster hit while the school was closed, said Bishnu Sharma, the Principal.
Principal Sharma worried that teaching-learning activities would be further affected adversely since there is a likelihood of more disaster in this monsoon.
Since the school would resume after the summer holiday, the school management is facing problems in arranging an alternative space for running teaching-learning activities.
Presently, there are a total of 438 students from grades 1 to 8 in the School that was established in 1956.
Both of the landslide-buried buildings were recently built.
Phalewas Municipality Mayor Gangadhar Tiwari inspected the landslide-hit school while the police have already readied the details of the damage which, Mayor Tiwari shared, would be sent to the Ministry of Home Affairs.
