Nepal witnesses noticeable progress in reduction of child mortality rate

June 25, Kathmandu: Nepal has witnessed noticeable progress in the reduction of the child mortality rate.
Nepal Demographic and Health Survey 2022 report unveiled by the Ministry of Health and Population revealed the reduction in the child mortality rate in the country.
The survey stated that in 1996, 1 hundred 18 children under the age of 5 died out of one thousand children while now only 33 children of the same age group die.
Similarly, the infant mortality rate has also decreased to 21 from 78 in one thousand.
