Madhesh government tables its policies and programs

June 7, Kathmandu: Madhesh province government has tabled its policies and programs for the new fiscal year.

Governor of Madhesh Province, Harishankar Mishra, presented the agenda during a meeting of the Madhes Province Assembly.

The government’s key focus areas include agriculture, education, industry, tourism, and physical infrastructure development.

In the agricultural sector, the provincial government aims to promote irrigation, mechanization, and the adoption of advanced technologies.

Special attention will be given to the processing and marketing agricultural products to enhance the sector’s overall growth.

Additionally, the Madhesh government plans to establish a Chure Conservation and Management Act to effectively protect and manage the Chure region.

Furthermore, the government aims to develop the Dhanushadham Protected Forest into a prestigious biological park and wildlife rescue centre.

Health services will be improved through initiatives such as the Chief Minister’s Door to Door program, offering free eye, dental, and ear health examinations for citizens above 60 years of age.

To address the needs of marginalized families, the government intends to distribute improved stoves and implement the “one family, one electric stove” program in areas with power connections.

In the education sector, the government plans to provide grants to schools for distributing bicycles to Grade 8 girl students and to present laptops to Grade 12 girl students to promote computer education.
