Supreme Court upholds Dipayal High Court’s decision to life imprisonment to Resham Chaudhary

Kathmandu: The Supreme Court has upheld the verdict of Dipayal High Court on a case relating to Tikapur carnage which had handed down life imprisonment to Resham Chaudhary. Resham was doing his jail time.

Justices Dr Ananda Mohan Bhattarai and Nahakul Subedi gave the verdict today convicting Chaudhary on the charge. Chaudhary had filed a petition at the SC seeking a review on the High Court’s decision.

Likewise, another opponent Laxman Tharu is handed down three years in imprisonment by reducing five years of jail time directed by the Dipayal High Court.

However, Ganga Ram Chaudhary and Sita Ram Chaudhary, who were jailed in the same case, have got a clean chit from the Supreme Court verdict.
