Telecardiology service comes into operation in Rapti rural municipality

Tulasipur: From now onwards, patients in Rapti rural municipality in Dang district will avail of medical consultation services especially about heart health through online services.

The proposed Bhalubang Hospital in ward no 1 and Sisahaniya Hospital in ward no 5 of the rural municipality launched the service in view to facilitate the patients in getting diagnoses timely and conveniently employing the internet and telephone.

Prakash Bista, Chairperson of the rural municipality, shared that cardiologist Dr Suman Banjade inaugurated the service in both health facilities by remotely conducting an ECG examination of a patient.

With the launch of this service, heart patients from underprivileged communities in the Deukhuri area would avail of specialized health services from their nearest health facility, according to Dr Banjade.

The Rural Telecardiology Programme was launched in the Rapti rural municipality at its initiative and with support from the Geriatric Society of Nepal.
