Prime Minister Deuba garlanded Shankhadhar Sakhwa’s statue

Kathmandu: Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has placed a wreath at the National Luminary Shankhadhar Sakhwa statue in Naya Thimi of Bhaktapur.

While garlanding the statue of National luminary Shankhadhar Sakhwa, the founder of Nepal Sambat organized by the Foundation today at Shankhadhar Chowk Madhyapurthimi, Prime Minister Deuba said that the government has already declared Sakhwa a national monument, published a postage stamp in his name, and made arrangements to include it in the school curriculum.

In the program, Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Minister Jeevan Ram Shrestha said that the Nepal government is preparing to announce a national award in Sakhwa’s name to make Shankhadhar Sakhwa’s contribution permanent.
