Kathmandu:<\/strong> Minister for Information and Communications, Dr Bikram Timilsina, has asserted that Nepal’s postal service would be developed into a systematic, effective and of quality. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

At an annual progress review of fiscal year 2082\/83 and interaction organised by Department of Postal Service here today, Minister Dr Timilsina clarified that the postal service has its own historical importance and dignity in the world. He stressed the need of developing and expanding postal service as an institution providing effective service in national and international areas by boosting its capacity. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Minister Dr Timilsina argued, “Postal service has not been scrapped anywhere in international level. So the government is working for capacity development of employees, making it resourceful and taking service to the access of people of remote areas in Nepal.” <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Communications Minister emphasized the need of special efforts of employees of subordinate bodies to make postal service more effective in coming days by finding out weakness and problems, stating that positive thinking and commitment of all subordinate bodies of the Department and employees to make postal service efficient and of quality. He expressed the view that the bureaucracy should perform with positive mindset and commitment to fully utilize the government’s investment in postal service. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The government would support if the department comes with a draft for the solution of any problems seen in course of performance as the incumbent has emphasized on good governance, underlined the Communications Minister.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sharing that a process to purchase 100 motorcycles to end the vehicle-related problems in postal service, he mentioned that the ministry is positive to make facilities of additional employees of postal service timely. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ministry Secretary Rajendra Kumar Paudel pointed out the need to make postal services modern, tech-friendly, and effective, while coordinating with provinces and local levels to provide speedy and quality service. He mentioned that policy improvements and publicity are needed in the postal service. He also shared on the occasion that the government is positive about increasing the benefits for additional postal employees. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Director General of the Department, Manmaya Bhattarai, said that the department has been carrying out its responsibilities in an organized and speedy manner even amidst various challenges. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

On the occasion of the 152nd World Postal Day, the heads of the Gorkha, Salyan, Myagdi, and Bhaktapur post offices were honoured for their outstanding performance. Also, chief trainer at the Postal Training Centre, Dhruva Raj Acharya, was honoured with cash award on the occasion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
