{"id":437596,"date":"2026-10-10T20:28:41","date_gmt":"2026-10-10T14:43:41","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/radionepalonline.com\/en\/?p=437596"},"modified":"2026-10-10T20:28:42","modified_gmt":"2026-10-10T14:43:42","slug":"pokharel-honoured-with-sahitya-sandhya-govinda-bhatta-memorial-award","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/radionepalonline.com\/en\/2026\/10\/10\/437596.html","title":{"rendered":"Pokharel honoured with Sahitya Sandhya-Govinda Bhatta Memorial Award"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Kathmandu, Oct 10:&nbsp; Critic and Professor Dr Madhav Prasad Pokharel has been honoured with the &#8216;Sahitya Sandhya-Govinda Bhatta Memorial Award&#8217; for the year 2082 BS.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The award carrying a purse of Rs 50,000 was presented to Dr Pokharel in recognition of his significant contribution to the development of essay, literary criticism, research, linguistic and others.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Senior critic and literary figure Dr Abhi Subedi presented the award to Dr Pokharal at a programme held here on Saturday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The award was institutionalised in commemoration of Bhatta, a leftist intellectual and literary critic, to honour his legacy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The revolving fund for the award was established by senior litterateur and Nepal Academy&#8217;s former Chancellor Ganga Prasad Upreti.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A meeting of Sahitya Sandhya, chaired by its Chairperson Ram Binay, decided to confer this year&#8217;s award on Dr Pokharel.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Kathmandu, Oct 10:&nbsp; Critic and Professor Dr Madhav Prasad Pokharel has been honoured with the &#8216;Sahitya Sandhya-Govinda Bhatta Memorial Award&#8217; for the year 2082 BS.
