{"id":437557,"date":"2026-10-10T05:45:17","date_gmt":"2026-10-10T00:00:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/radionepalonline.com\/en\/?p=437557"},"modified":"2026-10-10T05:45:18","modified_gmt":"2026-10-10T00:00:18","slug":"nta-nepal-telecom-sign-pact-to-implement-information-highway-project","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/radionepalonline.com\/en\/2026\/10\/10\/437557.html","title":{"rendered":"NTA, Nepal Telecom sign pact to implement Information Highway Project"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>Kathmandu, Oct 9: <\/strong>An agreement has been signed for the implementation of the Information Highway Project that aims to expand high-speed broadband internet services at 194 local levels in Gandaki and Lumbini Provinces.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The agreement was signed between the Nepal Telecommunications Authority (NTA) and Nepal Telecommunications Company Limited (Nepal Telecom) on Friday to expand telecommunications infrastructure and increase digital access.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>NTA chairman Arjun Ghimire and Nepal Telecom managing director Sangita Pahadi (Aryal) signed the document on behalf of their respective sides in the presence of Minister for Information and Communication, Dr Bikram Timilsina.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As per the agreement, a grant of up to Rs 2.01 billion will be provided from the Rural Telecommunication Development Fund for implementing the project, which has an execution time of three years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The project is about the installation of around 2,216 km of optical fibres in two provinces.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Speaking on the occasion, Minister Timilsina described the project as a take-off point, directing the authorities to complete it within its deadline.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to NTA, the project has been divided into three strategic packages. <strong>RSS<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Kathmandu, Oct 9: An agreement has been signed for the implementation of the Information Highway Project that aims to expand high-speed broadband internet services at 194 local levels in Gandaki and Lumbini Provinces.
