Kathmandu, Oct 2:<\/strong> The second session, or budget session, of the House of Representatives (HoR) dedicated a total of 277 hours and 30 minutes, with 68 meetings in 62 days for the parliamentary proceedings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The session endorsed 12 bills, including the Bill to replace Ordinances.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Although there were 145 days for the HoR’s budget session that had begun on May 11, the number of days spent on parliamentary business was 62.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Speaker Dol Prasad Aryal shared information about it with lawmakers on Friday before announcing its conclusion. According to the Speaker, during this period, a total of 35 bills, including the Civil Service Bill, were tabled in the parliament.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Similarly, 20 bills were under consideration in the relevant committees under the HoR.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In this period, agreements reached between the Government of Nepal and the Government of the Republic of India regarding mutual legal assistance in criminal matters and long-term power trade were presented to the parliament.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Similarly, the House ratified the International Labour Organization (ILO) conventions on labour inspection and forced labour, approved the proposal for membership in the Association of Asian Parliaments, and endorsed the agreement on the conservation and sustainable use of marine biological diversity of areas beyond national jurisdiction.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On May 30, Prime Minister Balendra Shah sought time in the meeting and responded to queries raised by lawmakers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The HoR recorded 13 question-and-answer sessions with seven different ministries in accordance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On September 2, the HoR meeting endorsed a special motion, expressing sorrow over the loss of lives and property caused by the Bhotekoshi-Trishuli floods in Rasuwa, Nuwakot, Dhading, Chitwan and Gorkha.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
