Rupandehi, October 2:<\/strong> A study and research process has begun to explore the development of a Buddhist Circuit linking Lumbini, the birthplace of Gautama Buddha, with other important sites associated with his life and enlightenment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The initiative follows a tripartite strategic partnership between Lumbini Buddhist University, Chhay-Ya Nepal and the Integrated Social Development Centre (ISDC).<\/p>\n\n\n\n The planned report will assess the concept, possible implementation and potential benefits of the Buddhist Circuit, while proposing policy recommendations and a framework for sustainable tourism development and cross-border connectivity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n According to Lumbini Buddhist University, the three organisations will conduct joint field studies, collect and analyse data, consult stakeholders and carry out research as part of the process.<\/p>\n\n\n\n ISDC Board Member Swati Thapa said Lumbini Buddhist University would lead the academic study and research, while Chhay-Ya Nepal would coordinate with provincial and local governments. ISDC will coordinate the overall initiative.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Chhay-Ya Nepal will provide Rs 1.5 million for the project, while the university will mobilise professors and experts.
