{"id":436965,"date":"2026-09-30T12:20:00","date_gmt":"2026-09-30T06:35:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/radionepalonline.com\/en\/?p=436965"},"modified":"2026-09-30T14:23:25","modified_gmt":"2026-09-30T08:38:25","slug":"finance-minister-wagle-returns-home-after-aiib-annual-meeting","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/radionepalonline.com\/en\/2026\/09\/30\/436965.html","title":{"rendered":"Finance Minister Wagle returns home after AIIB annual meeting"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>Kathmandu:<\/strong> Finance Minister Dr Swarnim Wagle has returned home after participating in the annual meeting of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank, AIIB, in Doha of Qatar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Finance Minister&#8217;s secretariat said the meeting was fruitful in expanding AIIB investment in Nepal\u2019s infrastructure development, promoting technology transfer and strengthening cooperation among member countries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Finance Minister Wagle was elected Vice-Chair of the AIIB Board of Governors for 2026\u201327. Nepal was elected to the position from among the regional member countries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Speaking at a Governor\u2019s Business Round Table, Minister Wagle called for increased investment in infrastructure and manufacturing sectors, including roads, electricity, communication and information technology.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He also held discussions with the AIIB President and finance ministers of Qatar, India, Bangladesh, Armenia and Georgia on bilateral interests, economic cooperation, investment expansion and support for Nepal\u2019s post-disaster reconstruction.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Finance Minister Wagle was elected Vice-Chair of the AIIB Board of Governors for 2026\u201327.
