Committee member Prof. Dr Devmani Bhattarai said the Pindadan, or offering of rice and other items, for Pratipada should be completed by this afternoon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sohra Shraddha is observed for 16 lunar days, during which Hindu pay homage to their ancestors through various rituals and food offerings. The period begins with the full moon of Bhadra and continues through the lunar fortnight.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to Hindu mythology, the souls of three preceding generations of one&#8217;s ancestors reside in Pitri\u2013loka, a realm between heaven and earth.
