Kathmandu, September 25:<\/strong> Main roads and highways have been closed in 26 districts across the country due to the high risk of floods and landslides triggered by continuous rainfall.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority (NDRRMA), under the Ministry of Home Affairs, said the decision to close or restrict traffic on risk-prone road sections was taken based on information received from the respective District Administration Offices.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The road closures and restrictions have been reported in the following districts:<\/p>\n\n\n\n Koshi Province:<\/strong> Taplejung, Sankhuwasabha, Khotang, Bhojpur, Dhankuta, Tehrathum, Panchthar, Ilam, Sunsari and Udayapur<\/p>\n\n\n\n Bagmati Province:<\/strong> Dolakha, Sindhupalchok, Kavrepalanchok, Nuwakot, Dhading, Lalitpur and Chitwan<\/p>\n\n\n\n Gandaki Province:<\/strong> Lamjung and Myagdi<\/p>\n\n\n\n Lumbini Province:<\/strong> Rolpa, Dang and East Rukum<\/p>\n\n\n\n Karnali Province:<\/strong> West Rukum<\/p>\n\n\n\n Sudurpashchim Province:<\/strong> Bajhang and Baitadi<\/p>\n\n\n\n The Ministry of Home Affairs has urged the public to avoid unnecessary travel and refrain from operating vehicles at night on vulnerable road sections amid forecasts of heavy rainfall.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The ministry has called for heightened vigilance to prevent possible accidents and minimise loss of life and property.<\/p>\n\n\n\n People have been urged to contact 1234<\/strong> for disaster-related emergencies and rescue services, 100<\/strong> for Nepal Police, 1114<\/strong> for the Armed Police Force and 1155<\/strong> for weather-related information.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" Kathmandu, September 25: Main roads and highways have been closed in 26 districts across the country due to the high risk of floods and landslides triggered by continuous rainfall.
