The monsoon trough is lying south of its usual position, while a low-pressure system has developed over the North Andaman Sea.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The system is expected to strengthen and move west-northwest in the coming days.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Meteorological Forecasting Division says cloudy weather will prevail in most Himalayan and hilly areas, as well as Madhesh Province and parts of the Terai.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Moderate rain and thunderstorms are likely in several areas, with snowfall possible in the higher Himalayan regions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Heavy rainfall is expected in the hilly areas of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki and Lumbini provinces.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Division has urged people in vulnerable areas to remain alert to possible weather-related hazards.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Kathmandu, Sept. 21: Nepal is currently under the influence of monsoon winds, with a partial impact of westerly winds.
