{"id":436232,"date":"2026-09-18T14:23:15","date_gmt":"2026-09-18T08:38:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/radionepalonline.com\/en\/?p=436232"},"modified":"2026-09-18T14:23:16","modified_gmt":"2026-09-18T08:38:16","slug":"korean-ambassador-pays-courtesy-call-on-communication-minister-timilsina","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/radionepalonline.com\/en\/2026\/09\/18\/436232.html","title":{"rendered":"Korean Ambassador pays courtesy call on Communication Minister Timilsina"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>Kathmandu, September 18:<\/strong> Minister for Information and Communications Dr Bikram Timilsina held a courtesy meeting with Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Nepal Park Jae-kyung at his office today.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The meeting focused on Nepal-Korea relations, rescue and rehabilitation efforts following the Bhotekoshi floods, assistance to flood-affected people, and cooperation in information technology, the digital economy and artificial intelligence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"683\" src=\"https:\/\/radionepalonline.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2026\/09\/comm-minister-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-436233\" srcset=\"https:\/\/radionepalonline.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2026\/09\/comm-minister-1024x683.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/radionepalonline.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2026\/09\/comm-minister-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/radionepalonline.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2026\/09\/comm-minister-768x512.jpg 768w, https:\/\/radionepalonline.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2026\/09\/comm-minister.jpg 1536w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Minister Timilsina expressed gratitude to the Government of Korea for its support and solidarity with Nepal following the Bhotekoshi flood disaster. He also thanked Korea for mobilising a disaster management team for search and rescue operations and for its commitment to assist flood victims and support reconstruction and resettlement efforts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Minister stressed the need to further strengthen the friendly relations between Nepal and Korea based on mutual respect, understanding and cooperation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ambassador Park said that Korea&#8217;s support for rescue and rehabilitation in the flood-affected areas would continue. He also expressed concern over Korean nationals affected by the disaster.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to Ambassador Park, Korean security personnel have rescued 10 Korean citizens who were trapped in the floods, while nine Korean citizens in the area of the Upper Trishuli-1 hydropower project remain missing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>During the meeting, Ambassador Park also informed Minister Timilsina about Nepal&#8217;s participation in the 12th Global ICT Leadership Forum, scheduled to be held in South Korea from September 25.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The forum, organised by South Korea&#8217;s Ministry of Science and ICT and coordinated by the National Information Society Agency, will bring together representatives from Nepal and other countries for high-level discussions on cooperation and future strategies in information technology and artificial intelligence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Kathmandu, September 18: Minister for Information and Communications Dr Bikram Timilsina held a courtesy meeting with Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Nepal Park Jae-kyung at his office today.
