Kathmandu, Sept 18:<\/strong> As many as 677 transport workers have been reported missing following the devastating floods in the Bhote Koshi River, according to the Nepal Truck Transport Entrepreneurs Federation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The Federation shared the details at a meeting held on Thursday under the coordination of Rajiv Pokharel, Director General of the Department of Transport Management.<\/p>\n\n\n\n According to the Federation, 515 trucks and containers have also gone missing in the floods.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Meanwhile, the Ministry of Infrastructure Development has formed a committee to assess the human and physical losses caused by the disaster and recommend a basis for providing compensation to the affected parties.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The committee, coordinated by Director General Pokharel, has been given 15 days to complete and submit its assessment report along with recommendations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Representatives from the Ministry of Infrastructure Development, the Infrastructure Development Minister’s secretariat, transport entrepreneurs and transport workers’ unions are included in the committee.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Rajendra Bikram Baniya, president of the Nepal Truck Transport Entrepreneurs Federation, and Badri Prasad Chaulagai, general secretary of the Federation, are among the committee members.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" Kathmandu, Sept 18: As many as 677 transport workers have been reported missing following the devastating floods in the Bhote Koshi River, according to the Nepal Truck Transport Entrepreneurs Federation.
